Gifts of the Essential Oils – Adam Barralet & Vanessa Boscarello Ovens

Frankincense:

‘Every cell in your body has a direct relationship with the creative life force and each cell is independently responding when you feel joy, all the circuits are open, so the life force can be fully received. When you feel guilt, blame or fear or anger, the circuits are hindered and the life force cannot flow as effectively. Physical experience is about monitoring those circuits and keeping them as open as possible. Your cells know what to do; they are summoning the energy.’ Abraham Hicks, Ask and it is Given.

I know I seem to talk about frankincense every month, but really, it’s the king of oils for many reasons. My love for this oil is from using it to enhance my spiritual practice, supporting my body at a cellular level and allowing me to find my truth.

Frankincense is useful when meditating, it will enable you to relax and listen. It’s a great tool for dealing with any spiritual crisis because it will soothe outer chaos as well as provide you spiritual comfort and protection. It can be helpful for spiritual direction.

Frankincense invites us to prepare to embrace our darkness, the parts of us we don’t always feed with love and light. You can consecrate a sacred space with frankincense. It is aligned with the brow and crown chakras; it helps to open out third eye.

Sandalwood:

‘And listen deeply to what I am not telling you, for your heart is eager to hear the mysteries that I speak from my soul.’ Anonymous.

Sandalwood is the perfect companion for mediation practice. It also allows us to listen deeply. It is helpful for us to use this oil when we are trying to connect with our life purpose. Our soul knows, we just have to listen.

It’s a soothing, calming and grounding oil. It helps us slow down and helps us find clarity. It helps us with every aspect of ourselves – our heart, our body, and our soul – to listen. This listening goes beyond the physical, the knowing we find when we develop our connection to spirit as well as soul to soul connections that we can sometimes be fortunate enough to establish with a friend.

Sandalwood has an affinity with the sacral and crown chakras.

Yarrow:

‘Sensitive people should be treasured. They love deeply, and they think deeply about life. They are loyal, honest, and true. The simple things sometimes mean the most to them. They don’t need to change – their purity makes them who they are.’ Anonymous.

Yarrow is an oil of great power and protection. It strengthens the aura and is good against psychic attacks. This means its excellent for emotional and highly sensitive people, as well as for empaths who absorb the pain of others. It has visionary qualities too, allowing us to see into the future. It has a reputation for being able to awaken the psychic senses and perceptions.

It is great for strengthening boundaries, especially around energy. It has an affinity with the base chakra.
